Robert Teoh, MBBS, MD, FRCP, has over 30 years of experience in the bio-pharmaceutical and CRO industries in Asia, Switzerland & the USA. Robert was most recently Chief Medical Officer of Ascent Development Services.
Prior to this, he founded, managed, and sold three pan-Asian clinical research organisations as growing and profitable concerns to PPD, United Health, and Chiltern International, respectively. He started Quintiles (now IQVIA) in East Asia, and his earlier industry experience included positions at Sandoz (now Novartis) in Hong Kong & Switzerland, and Tanox Inc. in the USA.
Robert sits on the Court of the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, England, and was a member of the Central Institutional Review Board (ethics committee) and the Research Ethics Compliance Committee of SingHealth, the largest government health group in Singapore.
Robert qualified in medicine from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne and trained in neurology in Newcastle and London, at the National Hospital for Nervous Diseases, Royal Postgraduate Medical School, Hammersmith Hospital, and Guys Hospital. Following a UK Medical Research Council fellowship, he held a visiting faculty position at Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, followed by a tenured post at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He has published over 55 papers in peer-reviewed journals and three chapters in books.
