Dr. Ignazio Di Giovanna, the Vice-President of Scientific Affairs and a Strategic Advisory Board Member at Evestia Clinical, has deep experience in the clinical research domain, having worked in the CRO field since 1990 and the pharmaceutical industry since 1986. Previously, Ignazio owned and operated the European CRO CCA Clinical Research from 1999 until its acquisition by ARG, in 2018, now Evestia Clinical.
Since gaining a PhD in Biophysics at Guy’s Hospital, based on the development of non-invasive cardiovascular diagnosis techniques, Ignazio has been passionate about clinical research and taken an active role in furthering research standards through participation on various influential organisations.
Ignazio has held leadership roles at the Institute of Clinical Research and the Clinical & Contract Research Association (CCRA) and been a member of the Biotechnology & Pharmaceuticals Sector Advisory Group (BPSAG), advising and influencing UKTI on trade and investment matters for the sector to help improve the UK market.
Ignazio was co-editor of “Principles in Clinical Research,” published in 2001, which remained the foremost reference text for industry lead studies for many years.
Over the last 15 years, Ignazio’s therapeutic focus has moved to neurodegenerative diseases, having managed studies in ALS, Huntington’s Disease, Alzheimer’s disease, and Parkinson’s Disease. Ignazio is very proud to be highly regarded in this field, having close ties to several key opinion leaders globally.
