ICRC Weyer 6 months on

July 2026

Six months after ICRC-Weyer joined Evestia Clinical, the combined team is already seeing the benefits of bringing together specialist expertise, broader capabilities, and a shared commitment to supporting biotech innovators. We sat down with our Chief Executive Officer Lewis Cameron, and Johann Daniel Weyer, our Chief Solutions Officer and former Managing Director of ICRC-Weyer, to reflect on the journey so far, the lessons learned, and what they’re most excited about as they look ahead.

1: When the acquisition was announced, the vision was to combine ICRC-Weyer’s specialist expertise with Evestia Clinical’s broader global platform. Six months later, has that vision become reality?

Johann Daniel Weyer (JDW): The biggest benefit has been bringing complementary expertise together under one roof. Clients can now access a broader range of specialist services through a single partner, while our teams collaborate more closely across functions, geographies, and therapeutic areas. That combination has created value much faster than I anticipated.

Lewis Cameron (LC): The acquisition was always about creating something stronger than the sum of its parts. Six months on, clients are already benefiting from broader capabilities and deeper expertise, while we’ve preserved the agile, personalized approach that defines Evestia Clinical.

2: What has surprised you most about bringing these two companies together?

JDW: The biggest surprise has been how naturally the teams have come together. Working within a larger global organization has brought fresh perspectives on collaboration and communication, while allowing us to share expertise without losing the entrepreneurial mindset that defined ICRC-Weyer.

LC: I expected complementary capabilities, but I’ve been most impressed by how quickly trust developed between the teams. Shared values around scientific excellence and client service made integration much smoother than many acquisitions experience.

3: How have clients benefited from the combined capabilities and stronger presence across Germany and Europe?

JDW: Clients now benefit from deeper specialist expertise alongside stronger local support across Europe. We’ve reduced reliance on external partners, strengthened our biometrics and medical writing capabilities, and made it easier for clients to access integrated support wherever they’re running studies.

LC: Germany is a strategically important clinical research market, and the acquisition strengthened both our regional presence and our specialist capabilities. Together, we’re providing a more seamless end-to-end service while combining local knowledge with global delivery.

4: What has been the biggest achievement of the first six months?

JDW: Seeing the combined expertise applied to active client projects so quickly has been incredibly rewarding. It demonstrated from day one that the acquisition wasn’t just strategic, it delivered practical benefits.

LC: I’d say the speed at which we’ve translated the acquisition into value for clients. That early momentum confirmed we brought together two highly complementary organizations.

5: As you look ahead to the next six to twelve months, what excites you most?

JDW: I’m excited to continue building specialist capabilities while supporting more clients internationally. The opportunities available as part of Evestia Clinical are far greater than either organization could have achieved independently.

LC: We’re only at the beginning. As integration continues, we’ll further strengthen our specialist expertise, expand internationally, and help even more biotech innovators navigate complex development challenges with confidence.
